I enter walking down a urban street with neoclassical buildings - I enter a open town square with a distorted old statue in the center. The season is late summer, early fall. Warm enough to wear nice clothes. A adolescent girl appears distressed and looking for her lost mother. I attempt to help. We find scattered belongings around the square and a heap of stuff close to the statue. The public moves around the square as if none of this is happening. We ruffle through the belongings, looking for a clue to the mother’s whereabouts— we find a bag with the bodies of two children wrapped in other bags. You can see through the bags. The girl becomes more anxious but seems unbothered by the bodies. We continue the search. As we move across the square, an ex girlfriend of mine appears - she is unbothered by my presence. We both feel familiar. The young girl disappears. Lucy, the ex, offers for me to go to her flat to research how to find the missing woman. We both change clothes and she leaves to attend a meeting she had. Her parents arrive but not as I remember them. They seem to be different people from the ones i knew in my youth. I leave to go continue my search- returning to the square. The bag of bodies and stuff are still there. The young girl feels distant. A troupe of theatre actors performing a show in the square— they approach and desperate for help. One of their troupe members didn’t show up to perform and they ask me to perform the missing actor’s monologue. I perform a sad monologue that leaves me in tears. I wake up crying.
